Overview

The Upstate Freshwater Institute (UFI) was founded in Syracuse, New York in 1981. Since that time, UFI has worked towards the advancement of freshwater research and the protection of our freshwater resources. Contributions include:stream sampling

UFI embraces an interdisciplinary approach in conducting research on aquatic systems; studying their physical, chemical, and biological aspects and interactions. Projects undertaken by UFI have focused on:

UFI conducts interdisciplinary research on lakes, reservoirs, rivers and streams. This research often integrates field sampling and measurements, laboratory analysis, field and laboratory process studies, data analysis, and mathematical modeling.
